Hugo and Mia’s Liver cake recipe

When I have made a batch of this liver cake, I become the pied piper of dogs. I thought I would share my recipe for you to try yourself at home.


450g Lambs Livers

250g Wholemeal Flour

200g Oats

2tsp/14g Baking Powder

30g Milled Flaxseed

3 eggs

250ml Water


1) Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius

2) Blend together the Liver and the water

3) Pour into a mixer or mixing bowl

4) Add all of the other ingredients to the liver mixture, and mix until combined

5) Spread the mixture onto a silicone or lined baking tray (I used a 26cm x 21cm silicone baking tray)

6) Bake in the oven for 35-45 minutes (I baked mine for 40 minutes)

7) Allow to cool

8) Cut into small cubes

9) Store in the freezer in individual packets/sandwich bags or one large ziplock bag

10) When needed, take out a packet (or handful) from the freezer, allow to defrost for 10-20 minutes, serve.
